"Tis the Season ...to Light the World

We had a busy week in the office.  Attended Family Home Evening for the Senior Couples at the Hill Cumorah Visitor Center again.  An evening of word games and charades.  Fun for old folks.
------------------
We welcomed the Jefferies to their first staff meeting.  It was Sister Jefferies birthday this week, so we treated her and us with a giant chocolate chip cookie.

------------------
One of Sister Jones' projects is keeping the progress board up to date showing the mission's progress in baptisms.  Pretty.

------------------
At noon on Friday, Sister Spencer and Sister Jones attended a birthday celebration for Sister Aybar with her district.  Elder Spencer and I kept working  away at the Mission Office.

-------------------
Saturday we did baptisms at the Temple with recent converts from Batavia and some youth from other branches.  It was uplifting.
-------------------
At the temple, I got acquainted with a recently returned Senior Missionary who had done two 6 month "trek" missions at Rocky Ridge, which he climbed 11 times.  There are 20 couples assigned to this mission. They all live in campers or RVs.
-------------------
We stopped by the HCVC to deliver mail and packages and took time to view their seasonal display of about 50 nativity scenes from around the world.  It was very impressive.
-------------------

This evening we attended a community Christmas concert held at the meeting house where the Mission Office is.  Several of our missionaries were in the choir.  It was very well done.  There is a lot of musical talent in the area with staff and students of the Eastman School of Music.  Nativity scenes are a big deal here as there was a display at the program.

We ended the evening watching the First Presidency Christmas Devotional.  This is a transfer week, so it will be busy and fun.
